The question I get most, standing in the middle of my own store: "Where do you get all of this? One vendor?"
I love that question, mostly because the answer is the whole point.
No. Not one vendor. Two thousand decisions. Every candle, every piece of jewelry, every odd little treasure on these shelves, I picked. By hand. One at a time. For beauty and for wit, my satisfaction and your appreciation.
One of the nicest things people say about Crooked Halos is when they assumed it's a franchise. A whole chain, with a buying team and a brand book and locations in other towns. I take that as the highest compliment, because it means the place feels like it came from one mind. It did. It just isn't a chain. It's the opposite of one. It's one person with a strong opinion about what gets to stay.
Before this, I spent twenty years in Hollywood as a talent agent. The whole job was the eye: knowing who had it, the thing you can't teach or fake. I traded the deal memos and the red carpets for a storefront in downtown Fort Myers and kept the only part that mattered. I used to find it in people. Now I find it in objects.
That's why nothing here is by accident. A national chain buys in bulk, by spreadsheet, the same forty things in every mall in America. I buy what stopped me. Sometimes it sparkles. Sometimes it comes straight from Mother Earth. Sometimes it just made me laugh. If it didn't earn its spot, it isn't on the shelf.
You feel it the second you walk in. The scent, the green and the gold, the exposed brick, the layers. A gift shop that reads like a person, because it is one.
Come in for a gift. You'll leave with something for yourself too. Everyone does.
The halo's crooked on purpose. ✨
